Helly Hansen has been chosen as the new ski apparel partner for the Swedish alpine ski team. This means that the members of Ski Team Sweden Alpine will now also be taking advantage of Recco reflectors, which have been integrated into Helly Hansen's ski apparel for many years. The reflectors help spot skiers in the snow in case of an avalanche accident. This is made possible by a two-part technology including detectors which send out a search signal and the reflectors worn by skiers or other outdoors people, which bounce back a directional signal that directs the rescuer to the skier. The partnership with Norway-based Helly Hansen replaces the long-standing partnership with Goldwin, the Japanese manufacturer that had been the apparel supplier for the Swedish alpine ski team for 29 years. Helly Hansen's new partnership starts with junior and European Cup racers, followed by the woman's elite team next winter and the entire Ski Team Sweden Alpine in the 2018/19 season.
