Sister brands Rab and Lowe Alpine, both owned by U.K. company Equip Outdoor Technologies, are lobbying for a special visa regime for athletes by supporting an official petition to the British government. As part of the U.K.’s exit from the EU, British citizens can now only travel within the EU for 90 out of 180 days. Spending most of their days outside of the U.K. to train and compete, young athletes, professional climbers and mountaineers from the U.K. feel restricted by the new rules. The petition needs 10,000 signatures for the government to respond to it. If it reaches 100,000 signatures, it will be considered for debate in Parliament.
