The North Face has joined the China Outdoor Association (COA), a working group of Chinese brands that has been formed to promote and develop outdoor activities in the country. The North Face is the first non-domestic company on the committee. The COA's name is still unofficial, since institutions whose names include the word “China” must be licensed by the Chinese government. The license is expected to be granted soon.
