Messe München has officially confirmed that it is planning a bicycle show. Its Bike Expo is scheduled for July 23-26. The event will be both an exhibition for consumers and a show for trade professionals. The trade show will be held in the halls of the Munich venue where Ispo takes place. The offer to the retailers puts its focus on e-bikes, city bikes, apparel and parts. The consumer event will take place in the venue’s inner open-air area and highlights mountain biking. A few weeks ago, ZEG, Germany’s leading buying group for bicycle retailing, informed its suppliers that it liked the idea of a new show in Munich. ZEG used to support the Ifma show in Cologne, which is no longer. Obviously, negotiations failed, at least for the time being, with Messe Friedrichshafen, which organizes Eurobike, the undisputed leading trade show in Europe.
