Garmin will become the official partner of the Red Bull X-Alps, one of the world's most challenging adventure races. Beginning July 5, the brand will provide athletes with action cameras, GPS watches and hand-held GPS gadgets. First launched in 2003, Red Bull X-Alps requires athletes to navigate their way along a 1,000-kilometer route beginning in Salzburg, Austria, up to the finish line in Monaco, by foot and paraglider. For the purposes of the race, participating athletes often hike more than 100 kilometers in one day. Garmin will have two sponsored athletes competing in the race, Paul Guschlbauer, an endurance athlete who will be at his third appearance at the Red Bull X-Alps, and Tom De Dorlodot, at his fifth appearance after overcoming an injury in summer 2014. In addition to the Red Bull X-Alps, Garmin is the official action camera sponsor of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship, an international series of air races.
