K2 has announced that it is determined to move into the business of outerwear. In 2013, the ski company will present its line of apparel, which is set to complement K2's offer of backcountry, all-mountain and freestyle hardgoods. In charge is Mark Valdez as outerwear product director; he was with Nike for 20 years. David Peterson, who acts as category merchandising manager, developed outerwear collections for Eddie Bauer for 16 years. Also from Eddie Bauer, Diane Egnatz will act as senior outerwear developer at K2.
