Since debuting on crowdfunding platform Indiegogo on May 13, Livall’s new EVO21 Smart Helmet has attracted 1,615 backers and funding of more than $207,124. The company plans to start shipping the new helmet globally in June.

The EVO21, the winner of an IF 2021 Gold award, is described as “brighter, lighter and safer than any other helmet on the market.” Its wide-angle front lights and super-bright 270° rear lights maximize visibility even at long ranges, while smart LEDs signal drivers what the cyclist will do next. The EVO21 has sensors to detect when the cyclist is slowing down or coming to a stop and it automatically turns on the brake warning light on the back of the helmet. Furthermore, it has an ultralightweight design, weighing only 350g. It also features Livall’s patented fall detection and SOS technology. In the event of a fall, the helmet sends a text message alert and exact GPS location to the user’s emergency contact. It can detect falls anywhere above 1.5 meters and trigger an SOS alert text message within 90 seconds of a fall. The EVO21 is also IPX5 waterproof, which means that the LED lighting system and remote will run in any weather. The helmet was designed in collaboration with Ruma, a design studio based in Spain.

Livall is currently expanding its product range from smart helmets for cycling and skiing to smart helmets for e-bikes, e-scooters, and electric motorcycles.
