Mammut won three awards at this year's Ispo Munich. The Sota HS Hooded Jacket, with its four-way laminated fabric and 3D surface, was Product of the Year in the Snowsports category. The stretchable jacket is manufactured with a technique the company calls PHASEknit, which weaves together multiple layers of fabric with minimal seams and enables the most effective placement of different fabrics in the garment. The result is waterproof, breathable and free of PFCs. The Photics HS Thermo Hooded Jacket, which Mammut calls the world's first laser-fused jacket, won in the Outdoor equipment category. Made with 750 cuin goose down, the jacket is waterproof and breathable. The “Laser Fuse Technology” used in its manufacture joins materials by laser, eliminating the need for adhesives or seams and creating “isolation zones,” such that insulation chambers of various size and filling can be welded together into any design. The lack of pinholes, moreover, eliminates any loss of down. Finally, the Trion Spine 50 won in the Outdoor equipment category. This alpine backpack is built around Mammut's “Active Spine,” which allows greater freedom of movement for shoulders and hips and adjusts to the spine's movements. The main compartment has a large opening, and there are extra pockets, a trekking pole carrier, attachments for skis and an ice axe, and a rope-fixing strap. Founded in the Swiss town of Dintikon in 1862, Mammut is currently headquartered in Seon, Switzerland.
