Altitude Sports has inaugurated its marketplace, an extension of the Montreal-based company's website that opens its e-commerce infrastructure to other brands, allowing them to display their full catalog of products. The Canadian marketplace is starting with the offerings of Osprey Packs and Garneau, the Canadian brand of cycling products. As of this autumn, the selection will expand to encompass a total of 20 brands. Altitude will book the orders, and the partner brands will handle fulfillment and delivery. In other news, in May, Altitude hired Joe Asmar, former vice president of SSense, as its chief operating officer, tasked with developing new technological and operational services. Asmar has worked for DHL, a software company, DiCentral, and a packaging and container company, Indevco. In 2018, Altitude processed 460,000 orders and generated 65 percent of its sales outside of Quebec. Employing 200 people, it is currently handling 430 brands.
