Arc’teryx is opening its two-story, 750 square meter “Arc’teryx Alpha Center” in Shanghai on Sept. 19. It is the brand’s largest store to date and offers customers an impressive shopping experience from both a design and product perspective. The store on Shanghai’s popular Huahai Road is anchored by the presence of four different experiential “huts:” The Hardshell Hut, located at the front of the store, features a triangular kaleidoscopic LED screen that provides a view of the vast Canadian mountain landscape, accompanied by the soothing sounds of nature. The Gore-Tex cabin has a rain room where customers can try out the technical features of Gore-Tex products. The Hardgoods Hut houses an extensive collection of hardgoods of the brand as well as a via ferrata wall that leads up to the second floor. The second floor houses the brand hut, which houses a virtual reality module that changes seasonally, a community lounge and an event board. The Arc’teryx Alpha Center will be powered entirely by renewable energy from a wind farm in the Chinese province of Guanxi and will also be the first store to offer products from the brand’s full range of performance, lifestyle and Veilance collections.
