Columbia Sportswear, the U.S. outdoor apparel and footwear company, announced a collaboration with Jeffrey Kalinsky to create a collection of outdoor-inspired pieces. Kalinsky is the founder of Jeffrey New York, a luxury boutique with designer merchandise, and executive vice president of designer merchandising for Nordstrom, the American department store and mail-order chain. The resulting line by Kalinsky for Columbia will consist of four outerwear pieces and one pair of boots for men. The products will be sold exclusively at Jeffrey New York and five Nordstrom locations from mid-September this year. With this collaboration, Columbia is opening another distribution channel and goes into the fashion sector.
