Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS), which has 69 outdoor specialty shops in the U.S., has been acquired by Versa Capital at undisclosed conditions. In 2008, Versa had already bought another American sporting goods retailer, Bob's Stores, which operates 35 units in the northeastern part of the country. Previously called Chrysalis Capital, the fund has owned Polartec since 2007.
