Fjällräven has opened a store in Portland, Oregon, as part of the rapid development of its own retail business in North America. With this latest opening, Fjällräven has built up a network of 15 stores across the country in the last three years, which has strongly contributed to the brand's rapid rise in the North American market. The Portland store should serve as the focal point of its development in the Pacific Northwest area. Situated in the Pearl District, the store covers 2,500 square feet. Nathan Dopp, president of Fjällräven North America, said in a statement that the company intends to open more stores before the end of the year while continuing to support independent specialty retail partners. Formerly vice president of sales and marketing, Dopp was recently appointed president of Fjällräven North America, after John Walbrecht switched to the Columbia Sportswear group as brand president of the Mountain Hardwear brand.
