Globetrotter recently announced the new store concept, “adventure store 2.0” for its location in Berlin-Steglitz, which is scheduled to open in September. The German outdoor retail chain that is part of the Fenix Outdoor Group will move into SportScheck’s ten-year-old store in Berlin-Steglitz, which closes its doors on July 20. The concept for Globetrotter’s new flagship store includes a repair station, a mountain hut for events and workshops, a café with a paronamic view over the city and the recently introduced Globetrotter Innovation Lab.

Whereas Globetrotter used to install a pool and a cold chamber in its shops, the company now focuses on service and customer experience. The centerpiece of the shop will be the new Innovation Lab, which will serve as a hands-on showroom for innovations, cooperations and fresh approaches and will present brands, products and projects. Covering more than 3,000 square meters, the Berlin store will also feature shop-in-shops of Patagonia, Fjällräven, Arcteryx, Icebreaker and Tierra.

Globetrotter opened its first store in Hamburg in 1979. The German outdoor retail chain has currently 16 stores, including one outlet store, and employs about 1,100 people.
