Globetrotter, the German outdoor retail chain that is part of the Fenix Outdoor Group, will take over Ergo Outdoor’s store premises in Wiesbaden and convert them into a new Globetrotter store, to be opened in April 2021. The remodelling will start at the beginning of next year. The existing sales team of the Ergo Outdoor store will continue to work for Globetrotter. Manfred Bachmann, founder and chief executive of Ergo Outdoor, will end his active career after 34 years and hand his business over to Globetrotter. Karstadt Sports recently announced that it will close its two branches in Wiesbaden, which could further facilitate the launch of a new Globetrotter store in the city.

As previously reported, Globetrotter will move into the ten-year-old SportScheck store in Berlin-Steglitz, which is scheduled to close on July 20, in the autumn. The current Globetrotter store in the area will be closed due to the construction of a new urban highway.
