Oysho, one of the retail chains of the Spanish Inditex group, is releasing a line of tech-ware for mountaineering. This “capsule collection” includes water-repellant trousers and jackets, fleece tops, thermal leggings, rain-protection gear, a scarf, boots, poles, a backpack and fast-drying socks. Several items feature Primaloft insulation. The most expensive item, a jacket, has a Recco detector to locate climbers in case of emergency. Once specializing in lingerie and homewear, Oysho has been expanding into a number of sports, including yoga, running, surfing, trekking, skiing and, most recently, boxing.
