Sport-Guide.com reports that a Patagonia store in Grenoble is to shut down around the end of October. The store has been open for several years but the owner apparently struggled to reach a sustainable level of sales, which he blamed on the lack of international tourists in Grenoble. The closure comes after two others in France, in Bordeaux and Toulouse. Patagonia is preparing to open a store in Manchester and performing well with some other European outlets, but the company told Sport-Guide that it wasn't currently pushing for the opening of more mono-brand stores in Europe, and instead focusing on spreading and upgrading its shop-in-shops in multi-brand stores.
