SportScheck, Germany's leading multi-sport and multi-channel retailer, significantly increased its sales of outdoor equipment, shoes and apparel in its last fiscal year, which ended on Feb. 29. While its total sales increased by 6 percent to €408 million, its sales of outdoor products jumped by 12 percent. The outdoor segment came to represent more than 20 percent of Scheck's total offer. Within this category, apparel grew by 14.0 percent, taking up 67 percent of the turnover in outdoor. Footwear, which had a 16 percent share in the outdoor segment at the retailer, grew by only 2 percent. Hardgoods improved – against the trend in the market – by an impressive 14 percent, making up 17 percent of the entire outdoor offer.
