The Japanese company Mont-Bell opened a new mono-brand store in the center of Tokyo last month. Including the new store in the Japanese capital, the company will be opening five new stores in Japan in 2011. LS Group, which owns the license for Mont-Bell products in South Korea, will expand and distribute licensed products in China starting in 2012. The company was at the OutDoor trade fair in Friedrichshafen for the first time, as the company is searching for new cooperation with retailers, especially in Europe. Mont-Bell is expecting total sales in the amount of $350 million at the end of 2011, with an increase in sales of about 12 percent. Sales outside its domestic market Japan account for only 5 percent at the moment. The company is the market leader in Japan with a share of about 30-40 percent. Retail sales in Japan account for half of the company's total sales. Mont-Bell owns 16 stores in Tokyo alone.
