Vibram has revamped its store in Boston's Newbury Street, adding a “Sole Factor” space where customers can customize their shoes with a variety of Vibram soles. It also features a new gallery displaying more than 150 pairs of shoes developed with Vibram soles since the original “Carrarmato” sole introduced by the company's founder, Vitale Bramani, back in 1937. The store will continue to serve as the company's only retail outlet in North America for Vibram FiveFingers shoes, with professional fitting, and select soling partners such as Anhu or Scarpa. A coffee bar and a lounge meeting area complements the environment. The only other Vibram store is in Milan, Italy, and it is much older. It has a different layout, and it organizes several community events.
