The North Face will be the official outfitter of the U.S. free-ski team at the 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympic Games, according to The Wall Street Journal, which quotes a ticket of more than $6.5 million for the deal. Another report indicates that the deal is part of a new eight-year U.S. Freeskiing program launched by the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) to encourage the growth of freeskiing at the athletic level. TNF's involvement in the program is part of the brand's previously stated plan to expand in the so-called action sports category. TNF is also sponsoring the Winter X Games this year.
