Tomtom reports that sales of its sports products soared by 40 percent to €69 million last year, with the shipment of more than 600,000 GPS sports watches. This compensated for slightly lower sales in personal navigation devices, although Tomtom said it performed better than the market and gained share in North America. Sales of the Dutch company's entire consumer division were up by 1 percent to €623.6 million for the year but with an operating profit (Ebitda) margin of just 2 percent, down by 7 percentage points. The entire group's turnover amounted to €1,007 million, up by 6 percent. Its Ebitda margin dropped by 2 percentage points to 12 percent and its net income shrank by 19 percent to €18.3 million.
