A total of 80 exhibitors from ten countries on three continents have signed up to participate in the first edition of the new Salon de l'Escalade (Climbing Trade Show), which will be held on Nov. 15-17 at Le Double-Mixte in the French city of Villeurbanne, just outside Lyon. Its organizers claim that it will be the first fair completely focusing on climbing in Europe. The show's first day, Nov. 15, will be reserved for industry professionals. A series of practical workshops and conferences will accompany the event, dealing with the boom of urban indoor climbing, the future of climbing, the place of women in the segment, the risk of Uberization for the sector, mountain sports in an era of climate change and other topics. There will also be a projection of films and special attractions like the Smart Board developed by Science for Climbing. Tickets are available online.
