With the Ispo Re.Start Days, the Ispo Group is organizing a digital live conference on June 30 and July 1 to provide orientation and growth strategies for the time after the Covid-19 pandemic. In compliance with the current protection and hygiene regulations, the majority of the speakers will meet in the International Congress Center Munich, which will be transformed into a modern broadcasting studio. Other guests and the audience will participate online. The conference comprises the Experience Day (June 30) and the Beyond the Status Quo Day (July 1).
After an initial definition of the meaning of “Restart” by Klaus Dittrich (Messe München), Kristina Vogel (former German Cyclist and Olympic Champion ) and Jost Kobusch (Mountaineer) as the opener on Day 1, Mark Held (EOG), Caspar Coppetti (On Running), Oliver Pabst (Mammut), Martin Riebel (Deuter), Reiner Gerstner (Schöffel), Michael Levi (Columbia Sportswear) and Jochen Lagemann (advisory board member OutDoor by Ispo) will discuss how the sports and outdoor industry can overcome the effects of the corona crisis. This high-caliber brand panel is followed by a retail panel on “The future of retail during and after Corona“ with Jost Wiebelhaus (Frankfurter Laufshop), Michael Benner (Internetstores), Frederic Hufkens (A.S. Adventure Group), Richard Thomas (Endura) and Markus Liss (Bächli Bergsport). Robbert de Kock (WFSGI) and Dr. Moritz Hagenmüller (Accenture) will discuss the latest Accenture market study before ten different lunch workshops are offered in two successive slots with five options each. The afternoon of the Experience Day is dedicated to China, the cycling industry, general market research and an industry leader panel on “The future of sports and outdoor” with Christoph Engl (Oberalp Group), Markus Hupach (Sport 2000 EU) and Mathias Boenke (Intersport Austria).
On Day 2, the conference looks to the future. The first main topic is digitalization, with a digital marketplace panel including Heiko Johannisson (ebay), Hernando Moncaleano (Amazon Fans 360), Dr. Carsten Keller (Zalando) and Torsten Ahlers (OTTO Retail Media). This is followed by keynotes on “Digital Transformation“ by Sophia Rödiger (Daimler Mobility & MountainMinds), ”Digital Innovation in Sports“ and ”Digitalization opportunities in Sports and Retail.“ During lunchtime, participants are welcome two choose between eight different digitalization workshops.
The second focus topic of Day 2 offers a series on presentations on various environmental and sustainability topics. The presenters include Rüdiger Fox (Sympatex), Melody Harris-Jensbach (Jack Wolfskin), Christian Dreszig (Bluesign), Kai Landwehr (myclimate), Dr. Tim Janaway (adidas Outdoor) and Dr. Antje von Dewitz (Vaude), amongst others. The presentations are followed by more high-caliber panels, starting with ”Will there be a Green recovery?” with Philipp Meister (Adidas), Peter Schöffel (Schöffel), Melody Harris-Jensbach and Jill Dumain (Bluesign). The next panel with Timo Perschke (SOMWR), Kai Landwehr, Katy Stevens (EOG) and Rüdiger Fox discusses ”Green economy – What new systems for sustainable management will emerge?” The third and last panel is presented by Steve Layton (Polartec) and deals with “Supply Chain Sustainability Development.”
The third topic is health & fitness. Six different workshops and three keynotes (Christopher Clawson / Life Fitness, Benjamin Roth / Urban Sports Club and Markus Vancraeyenest / FitX) will fill the whole afternoon until the Re.Start Days are concluded with a closing panel and a final interview.
The last panel deals with the “Future Perspectives of Sports - Leagues, Federations & Athletes Discuss” and brings together some influential officials from football, handball, basketball and the IOC. The final interview on ”From brand leader to thought leader” features the former chief executive of Patagonia, environmentalist Kris Tompkins.
