Paddlesports Retailer will relocate to Oklahoma City in 2018, just one year after its launch. According to the organizers of the trade show, the success of the inaugural event with both retailers and vendors made it clear that the show needed more space. The first edition of Paddlesports Retailer was held in Madison, Wisconsin from Aug. 29 to Sept. 1, 2017. The 2018 edition will take place at Oklahoma City's Cox Convention Centre on Aug. 28-30. Paddlesports Retailer was created at the end of 2016 by Sutton Bacon and Darren Bush, two veterans of the outdoor industry, following the decision by Emerald Expositions to hold their Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in June. Bacon and Bush believed this change would make it difficult for paddlesports companies to attend Outdoor Retailer in Salt Lake City in peak season.
