The European Outdoor Group (EOG) has announced that the first keynote speaker in this year's European Outdoor Summit will be Jens Nymand Christensen, the European Commission's deputy director-general for education and culture. Christensen is responsible for education, culture, youth, languages and sport at the Commission (DG EAC). He has worked in the European institutions since 1979, including as a director in the Commission's Secretariat-General from 2003-2014, and previously, as a member of cabinet of vice-president Henning Christophersen and head of unit for international food, veterinary and phytosanitary questions. This year's summit will take place in Barcelona on Sept. 29-30. Bookings can be made at an early bird discount price until July 22. The theme for this year's edition is “An industry in evolution,” with reference to the pace of change that is altering the industry.
