The organizers of the Adventure Sports Fair report attendance by 67,000 people, up from 57,000 in September 2010, at the latest edition of their consumer-oriented show, which took place in São Paulo Aug. 11-14. The increase was probably due in part to the fact that the trade show coincided for the first time with a big running show on the same venue. The second edition of Outdoor Business, the parallel B2B event held during the show, attracted 130 retail buyers from 12 Brazilian states, including representatives of major retailers such as the Centauro sporting goods retail chain and Nethshoes, the biggest online retailer of sporting goods in Latin America. They held 650 meetings with 21 outdoor brands, leading to an expected volume of business of 3 million reais (€1.27m-$1.76m). This was less than one year ago, but it was probably related to the timing of the exhibition, which was too close to the Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City.
