The Outdoor Industries Association (OIA) in the U.K. has decided to cancel the Outdoors Future Camp that was due to be held in Sheffield in partnership with Ispo Academy on Sept. 5-6, due to an insufficient number of bookings. Andrew Denton, chief executive of the OIA, said that the organizers had an outstanding lineup of speakers and they received initial interest and support from the trade, but the planned event only obtained a small number of bookings. The Outdoors Future Camp was chiefly targeted at young and up-and-coming professionals in the outdoor industry. The OIA still believes it's vital for the trade to invest in training of its future leaders, and an extensive survey will be conducted to find out more about the expectations of the association's members. Delegates who have registered to attend the event will be issued a full refund.
