The Outdoor Industry Association in the U.S. and the Outdoor Retailer show are working together to offer more educational sessions at Outdoor Retailer trade shows. An expanded curriculum will be offered at the Summer Market in August in Salt Lake City. The courses are set up by the OIA's Outdoor University. The OIA and OR will look for coordination sponsorships and brand opportunities to complement the sessions. So far the organizers have already put together 25 Outdoor University sessions for this summer's show, and plan for the total to be about 50 percent higher than in the past. Topics to be covered include e-commerce, mobile technologies, retail success, consumer trends, fair labor practices, free trade agreements, growth markets and more. The sessions are free for OR attendees. Information is available at outdoorindustry.org/ouator.
