The OutDoor show in Friedrichshafen will shift from Thursday-Sunday to a Wednesday-Saturday schedule, starting in 2015, reflecting the growing professionalism of the industry and in tune with similar changes at other trade shows. While it will still start on Thursday, July 10, this year, it will start on Wednesday, July 15, in 2015, and on Wednesday, July 13, in 2016. The organizers point out that the show has been experiencing increased attendance on weekdays lately. In fact, the halls of the fair have been nearly empty on the last day. The Outdoor Retailer show in Salt Lake City has already moved from a Thursday-Sunday to a Wednesday-Saturday schedule. On the other hand, Ispo Munich, which usually runs from Sunday through Wednesday, announced last month that it will test a Thursday-Sunday schedule at its 2015 edition, which will thus run from Feb. 5 to Feb. 8. At the same time, Messe Friedrichshafen says it is considering opening up the last day of the show to consumers, which has become an established practice at Eurobike, its big bike show in late summer.
