Vista Outdoor is not looking for a specific company size in its “aggressive” pursuit of acquisitions in the outdoor space. The company's management told investors at a recent conference that, while a $200 million takeover may require less work than a $50 million deal, Vista may add more value to a company that does not have a wide distribution network. Vista is seeking a diversification from its firearms and ammunition business, which represents two-thirds of its sales. It owns Bushnell and its eyewear brands, including Bollé, Cébé and Serengeti. It recently established an office in Hong Kong for its optics business in order to boost gross margins.
