Garmin has opened a new manufacturing and distribution facility in Wroclaw, Poland, to serve automotive and CE customers throughout Europe. The BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) certified facility includes nearly 30,000 square feet of state-of-the-art manufacturing and distribution space dedicated to the production and supply of infotainment systems as well as other automotive electronics. The new facility is located in SEGRO Logistics Park Wroclaw, directly at the intersection of Poland’s major A4 and A8 highways, allowing for efficient distribution within Europe. Garmin said it conducted an extensive site search throughout Europe before choosing Wroclaw. “With nearby highway and airport access and a skilled local workforce, Wroclaw is the ideal location for Garmin’s first manufacturing facility focused on serving our automotive customers in Europe,” said Sean Biddlecombe, managing director of Garmin EMEA.

Prototypes are currently already being manufactured at the new facility and production and distribution of consumer products will begin soon. Delivery of the first automotive OEM products is planned for 2022. Garmin Wroclaw is currently hiring process engineers, technicians and assemblers to be ready for the start of production at the plant.
