Oros Apparel, an outdoor brand from Portland, Oregon, is committing $5,000 to support the Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization in the fight to develop a vaccine to combat Covid-19. The founders of the brand, Michael Markesbery and Rithvik Venna, announced that they will donate an additional 5 percent of all product sales for the next 45 days to Covid-19 vaccine research.

Oros was founded in Cincinnati in 2015 following an initial crowdfunding campaign that raised $360,000. The brand specializes in outerwear that uses NASA-inspired Aerogel insulation. It has raised $10 million in venture capital, opened a pop-up store in Chicago and moved to Portland in 2019. This March, Oros launched a new crowdfunding campaign to help the company produce three new products. The campaign achieved its goal within two hours.
