Berghaus boasts that it has become the first British clothing brand to join the Bluesign system earlier this month, as part of a multi-faceted program to reduce the environmental impact of its activities and to eliminate harmful substances from the supply chain. Among its commitments, Berghaus wants to work with suppliers and textile mills which are able to demonstrate they can manage water in the cleanest and most efficient ways. Berghaus says that consumers will soon be able to find numerous products in the current ranges containing Bluesign-approved fabrics and it is aiming for 70 percent of its products to contain such fabrics by spring/summer 2016. The list of Bluesign system partners already includes outdoor brands from a variety of countries, such as Bergans, Jack Wolfskin, Mammut, The North Face or Salewa, and others.
