Downlite, the U.S.-based specialist in down processing, will be introducing new down-fill products and sustainability initiatives at the forthcoming 2018 Outdoor Retailer Winter Market and the Ispo trade show. Among the new products is a new certified re/charged down based on the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) which is said to provide unprecedented performance levels for 100 percent recycled down, thanks to its ability to “boost” the down to a higher cluster and the resulting fill power. The new down, available in both white and grey colors, can be combined with Downlite's performance-enhancing technologies, such as its proprietary PFC-free durable water repellent (DWR) treatments and Pur-Down anti-microbial solution. Also among the new down-fill products is the Repreve-down blend, a blend of Repreve - a GRS certified post-consumer recycled fiber made from plastic bottles - and virgin down and/or Downlite's GRS certified recycled down blends. In addition, Downlite is introducing the Wool-Down Halo, a proprietary blend of highly insulating materials that uses a traceable wool sourced in the U.S. The Wool-Down Halo is described as achieving new laundry durability standards. Finally, the company will highlight its latest developments in PFC-free DWR treatment.
