“For a Plastic-Free Sea” is the project in the Nature category that has won the right to obtain a grant of up to €30,000 from the European Outdoor Conservation Association (Eoca) through a public vote. Presented by Ternua and Surfers Against Sewage (SAS), it is intended to fund a program under which 10,000 volunteers will try to take 30 tons of plastic waste from 350 beaches all over the U.K. during two weekends. Ternua is already involved in another project, Redcycle, for the collection of abandoned fishing nets. The Spanish company has been a member of Eoca since 2014 and its founder, Eduardo Uribesalgo, is a member of its board.
