Haglöfs has obtained a “leader status” from the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF), rewarding its efforts in terms of social responsibility. The Swedish outdoor brand has been involved with FWF since 2012 and it remains the only Nordic outdoor brand in the association, although there are more outdoor brands from other parts of Europe, such as Salewa, Mammut, Schöffel and Sprayway. The leader status is the highest category of members in the FWF. The distinction for the Swedish brand comes after the FWF's brand performance checks for 2017 found significant improvements. Haglöfs audited eight manufacturing plants, meaning that it raised its number of audits by nearly 15 percent to 98 percent, compared with a benchmark level of 79 percent. Boasting more than 120 members, the FWF works with apparel suppliers and organizations to survey and improve working conditions in manufacturing countries.
