Helly Hansen and Nikwax have sealed a partnership to improve the care given to garments and to extend their performance in an environmentally-friendly way. The partnership focuses on Helly Hansen sports and workwear products that are meant for particularly demanding conditions. The partnership is to start with resort uniforms, as Helly Hansen boasts that it outfits more than 50,000 ski resort professionals and mountain guides. Nikwax and Helly Hansen are both committed to performance with the least environmental impact, which includes a move away from PFC-based durable water repellent coatings. Nikwax is a pioneer in this respect, since the company's products are all fluorochemical-free, using advanced elastomer technologies that are non-persistent in the environment.
