In the organic cotton sector, Mammut has been working closely with the Swiss textile manufacturer Remei, exclusive licensee of bioRe®, for around ten years. The bioRe® Foundation controls and guarantees through external and independent institutes the compliance with all standards for organic cotton. The T-shirts produced within the framework of the cooperation have also been CO2-neutral since 2013. Mammut and Remei have now announced that 1,000,000 T-shirts have left production. The announcement underlines Mammut’s We Care strategy for sustainable and fair production, under which the Swiss brand has committed itself to producing 95 percent of its fabrics from recycled materials and to using only certified organic cotton by 2023.
Remei also guarantees 100 percent traceability throughout the entire production and value chain using a QR code attached to every product. The T-shirts produced jointly by Mammut and Remei carry the bioRe® Sustainable Textiles seal of quality.
