Napapijri, a brand of VF Corp., received a gold award from the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, headquartered in Oakland, California and Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The non-profit organization’s work is funded through program fees and the support of foundations and sponsors. ”Cradle to Cradle Certified” is a globally recognized certificate of more sustainable products made for the circular economy. Napapijri launched the first product that can be recycled at the end of its life, the Skiddo Infinity jacket, in autumn/winter 2019. The jacket uses Econyl recycled Nylon 6 from Aquafil. New products of the brand’s ”Circular” series will be available in autumn/winter 2020, while the jackets awarded with the Cradle to Cradle gold award will be on sale from summer 2021. Napapijri invites buyers of the products to register the purchase date online, with the promise that the company will take the jackets back after they have been worn for at least two years.
