U.S. company Outdoor Research (OR) has partnered with Business For America to help support safe voting this election year. In response to the urgent need for supplies and support at the state and local level for this election, Business for America has launched Operation Vote Safe. The national, nonpartisan initiative is mobilizing civic-minded businesses to support a safe and secure election by donating PPE, equipment, and related supplies to state and county election officials. In response, Outdoor Research has donated 10,000 customizable face masks with high-efficiency filters. The face masks are being donated to the Washington and Pennsylvania Departments of State for distribution to county election offices. Outdoor research is also donating 80 high-performance rain jackets for distribution within WA state. These donations will be used for people sorting mail, handling drop box location pick up sites, transporting mail, moving equipment, and interfacing with the several thousands of voters that will need in-person support.
Besides OR, companies like REI, Keen, Burton, Clif Bar and Patagonia have also donated time, technological expertise, and thousands of units of PPE to polling places across the country to support safe voting.
