Smartwool has pledged to donate to Protect Our Winters (POW) and SOS Outreach throughout the holiday season. On Black Friday, the brand donated 3 percent of its online sales to POW, with a minimum donation of $3,000 and a maximum of $8,000. Meanwhile, the company's employees are tackling hands-on projects to show their support for families in need in Colorado, where the brand is headquartered, and other initiatives. In October, Smartwool employees assembled 60 new bicycles for the first-grade class at Alicia Sanchez International Elementary in Boulder, in partnership with the Can'd Aid Foundation. Also in October, more than 120 employees of the apparel brand, who had traveled to Steamboat Springs for the company's biannual sales meeting, took a break from the meeting and moved to the Steamboat Boys & Girls Club, where they collectively packaged 10,000 meals in less than two hours to feed local disadvantaged children. Smartwool is a division of VF Outdoor, which is a brand of VF Corp.
