The Adidas Group, which is targeting an annual turnover of €500 million in the outdoor sector, was ranked as the 8th most sustainable company in the world in an authoritative chart made public on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Compiled every year by Corporate Knights, a Toronto-based media and investment advisory company, the Global 100 index of the most sustainable corporations in the world is said to be based on the most extensive data in existence. Over the last decade, the Adidas Group has improved its ranking, scoring 38th in 2012 and 17th in 2013. No other outdoor or sporting goods company was listed in the index. Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) came in 64th place. Kesko Oy, the parent company of Intersport in Finland, arrived in 98th place.
