The athletes and environmental stewards of the Granite Gear's “Packing it Out” team will be picking up trash while hiking 2,650 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail starting May 6. The team removed nearly 500kg of trash during their thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail last year, including an entire mattress. Their usual late-season start enables them to clean up the trash left behind by previous hikers. The team will carry Granite Gear's Crown VC 60 backpacks and wear the brand's eVent Sil compression sacks. Additional support for this trip was provided by Sierra Designs, Zeal Optics, Gear Junkie, Altra footwear, Darn Tough, Clif Bar and Justin's Nut Butter.
