The first store of Canada Goose on U.S. soil, opened last Nov. 17 on Wooster Street in New York City, has been the target of animal rights activists since the start. They protested the company's use of coyote fur and goose and duck down, notably posting signs in the area where a dead coyote says “Proudly Torturing Animals Since 1957.” Reportedly, the protests have since spread to the iconic Paragon Sports store in New York and to other locations in Tokyo and Stockholm as well as the company's other store in Toronto. Canada Goose replied by reaffirming its commitment to ethical sourcing practices and the responsible use of fur and down, providing full transparency on how it makes its products.
