Vaude announced that its summer 2018 apparel collection will be completely PFC-free, thereby meeting the requirements set in the Vaude Greenpeace Detox Commitment. The trekking and rain jackets are made with the Ceplex Green membrane, 100 percent PTFE and PFC-free. The collection is made by up to 25 percent recyclable materials. Meanwhile, the company's large-scale “environmental stewardship in the supply chain” project has just finished a two-year run. The pilot project was aimed at educating Asian suppliers on the issues of environmental protection and the control of energy and emissions. Eight companies, accounting for about 80 percent of Vaude's supply chain, participated in the workshops. For its 2018 summer collection, Vaude will launch a new advertising campaign, including prints, videos and point of sales support, informing the consumer about its Green Shape label. The company said it invested between €50-100,000 in the transformation of its collection to be in line with the Green Shape requirements.
