Vaude launched its new logo, which has been only slightly altered, during the Ispo trade show. The logo aims to reflect the brand's slogan “performance meets ecology.” The company's long-term objective is to be the most ecological outdoor supplier in Europe by 2015; already 95 percent of the company's technical mountain sports apparel features the Vaude Green Shape seal. Vaude managed to increase its total sales by 16 percent in 2011. In Germany and Austria, sales rose by 20 percent, and sales in Switzerland increased by 8 percent, mostly due to a very strong Swiss currency during the summertime. The fact that sales of products certified with the Green Shape label rose by 125 percent in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Belgium demonstrates that retailers are responding to the special product offer. In 2011, products with the Green Shape seal were sold at about 100 points of sale in Europe. For 2012, already 200 retailers have agreed to set up a special Green Shape sales area in their shop. The objective of the company is to increase this number to 300 points of sale by the end of this year. Vaude expects a good development of its sales in China in 2012. For the Korean market, Vaude assumes that its sales will increase by 30 percent this year. The same sales increase is expected to take place in the Austrian, Swiss, Dutch and Belgium.
