Vestergaard, the Danish producer of the Lifestraw Go bottle for safe drinking, has launched the Lifestraw Safe Water Fund, setting up an interactive online platform that allows socially-minded individuals and organizations to support safe water programs of their choice through tax-deductible contributions. Launched on Earth Day, the fund is managed by the New Vanture Fund, a 501-c3 public charity. Contributors can choose to support the expansion of safe water programs in primary schools in Kenya or India or suggest a new program for consideration. They can also help provide safe water to victims of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Ecuador late last month. All the projects are implemented by the Lifestraw team or its partners. They use Lifestraw water purifiers, which are made by Vestergaard and are independently tested by the World Health Organization.
