VF Corp. has announced that Steve Rendle, the company's chairman, president and chief executive, has been recognized by Corporate Responsibility (CR) Magazine as a Responsible CEO of the Year, in the public company category. Rendle was one of six chief executives honored by the magazine at the awards gala that was held at MGM National Harbor hotel, near Washington, D.C., on Oct. 24. The annual awards recognize corporate leaders who exceed standards in areas such as environmental impact and sustainability, labor relations, human rights, philanthropy and corporate responsibility practices. The candidates to the awards are nominated by fellow members of the CR community, and the winners are selected by an independent judging panel that includes former honorees. Rendle was appointed as VF Corp.'s chief executive in January 2017, following nearly 20 years with the company and more than 30 years of experience in the sports and outdoor industry.
