VF Corp. has been placed on the 2016 Corporate Responsibility (CR) Magazine's Best Corporate Citizens list, the ranking that recognizes U.S. public companies for their corporate responsibility performance. The 100 Best Corporate Citizens List was first published in Business Ethics Magazine in 1999, and has been managed by CR Magazine since 2007. Every company in the Russell 1000, the highest ranked stocks in the Russell 3000 Index of publicly held U.S. companies, is assessed based on 260 data points from publicly available information in seven categories including environment, climate change, employee relations, governance, human rights, finance, and philanthropy and community support. The methodology for generating the list is governed by the Ratings and Rankings Thought Leadership Council of the Corporate Responsibility Association (CRA). Recent corporate sustainability achievements by VF include a 5 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in 2015 compared with 2009 levels, overseeing more than 1,500 community service events in 2015 and pledging to use 100 percent renewable energy by 2025 at VF owned and operated facilities. VF's portfolio of brands include Timberland, The North Face, Vans, Wrangler, Lee and Nautica.
